It is the biggest land area in Europe without mountains. The plain stretches from the Pyrenees in the west to the Ural Mountains in the east. It covers many places like Germany, Poland, and Ukraine.

Most of the land is low. It stays below 500 feet in height. Many big rivers flow through the plain. These include the Rhine, the Vistula, and the Volga.

Long ago, thick forests covered most of this land. One large forest left is the Białowieża Forest. Now, people use the plain to grow much of Europe's food. It is a key place for trade and industry. The plain also makes a lot of renewable energy. Because the land is so flat, it is easy to travel across. This has also made it a place where many armies have moved in the past. The plain is a very important part of Europe today.
