He has built a massive international career spanning over 40 years. His music is especially popular in Italy and throughout Europe. He also enjoys great success in the Spanish-speaking world. This popularity comes from his habit of releasing albums in both Italian and Spanish. To date, he has sold more than 80 million records. His discography includes 13 studio albums, one EP, and many singles. He has also released several compilation and live albums.

Ramazzotti's musical journey began with early training and personal interest. He started playing the guitar at the age of seven. As a teenager, he wrote songs with his father, Rodolfo. His father was a music lover who played the piano. Although he failed an entrance exam for a musical conservatory, he remained dedicated to music. He even worked briefly as an extra in films while pursuing his dreams. In 1981, he entered the Voci Nuove di Castrocaro Terme music contest. He performed his own song, "Rock 80." Although he did not win, he reached the finals. This performance earned him a contract with the Italian label DDD.

His professional breakthrough occurred through the Sanremo Festival. In 1984, his song "Terra promessa" won the Newcomers' category. This success helped his music spread across Europe. In 1985, he returned to the festival with "Una storia importante." This single became a massive hit, selling one million units in France alone.

By 1986, his second album, *Nuovi eroi*, earned Platinum status in Switzerland and Gold status in Germany. That same year, his song "Adesso tu" won the overall competition at the Sanremo Festival.

As his fame grew, Ramazzotti became a global performer. In 1987, he completed a nine-month tour. During this time, he performed for more than one million people. His third album, *In certi momenti*, reached over 3 million copies sold worldwide. In the early 1990s, he expanded his reach into the United States. He became the first Italian artist to perform at the famous Radio City Music Hall in New York City. His album *In ogni senso* earned multiple Platinum awards in Germany, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. He also appeared on major American television programs like *The Tonight Show with Jay Leno*.
