Ernst Heinrich Weber was a German doctor. He lived from 1795 to 1878. He is known as a founder of experimental psychology. This is the study of how the mind works through tests. Most thinkers back then just sat at desks. Weber did real experiments to find facts.

One big discovery was the just-noticeable difference. This is the smallest change we can feel. Weber studied how we feel weight. He found we notice changes based on a ratio. For example, if you hold a 100 g block, you need 108 g to feel a change. This is an 8% difference.

He also studied touch. He used a tool like a compass. He tested how close two points could be. He wanted to see if we felt two points or just one. This helped map how sensitive our skin is.

Weber also studied how blood moves. He worked with his brother, Wilhelm. They looked at how liquids move in tubes. This helped explain how blood flows through our body. His work helped make psychology a true science.
