The highest spot is Mount Smolikas. Winds from the sea bring a lot of rain. This makes Epirus a very wet place. Many plants and animals live here. You might see bears, wolves, foxes, or deer.

The region has two large national parks. These are the Vikos-Aoos and Pindus parks. About 320,000 people live in Epirus. The largest city is Ioannina. Most people there are Greeks. Because the land is rocky, farming is hard. Many people raise sheep and goats. They use them to make famous dairy products like feta cheese. Many people also visit to see the beautiful nature.
