Eliška was a very smart and careful driver. She would walk the entire race course before a big event. She looked for the best lines through every corner. She even used chalk to mark posts and trees. This helped her know exactly where to go during the race.

Eliška's racing career began in a very special way. She married a man named Vincenc "Čeněk" Junek. At first, she worked as a mechanic for him. A hand injury made it hard for Čeněk to shift gears. This gave Eliška the chance to take the wheel. She started her first professional race in 1923 with Čeněk by her side. By 1924, she won her class at the Lochotín-Třemošná hillclimb. This victory made her a famous celebrity in her country. She went on to win many other races in Europe.

One of her most famous races was the Targa Florio in 1928. This race took place on the island of Sicily. It was a very tough race on mountain roads. The course was 540 km long and took eight hours. Eliška drove a Bugatti Type 35B racing car.

She was very fast and even took the lead. However, she had a flat tire during the final lap. She also had trouble with her engine and radiator water. Even with these problems, she finished in fifth place. She beat twenty-five other top drivers in that race.

Eliška's life changed forever after a sad accident. During a race at the Nürburgring, her husband's car rolled over. Čeněk died from a head injury. Because of this loss, Eliška stopped racing and sold her cars. She decided to follow her other passion, which was traveling. She traveled 6,000 km across difficult land to drive Bugattis to India. Ettore Bugatti, the man who made her favorite cars, even helped her travel. She used her skills to find new business for his company. She was a very strong and determined person.

In her later years, Eliška lived a very long life. She married a writer named Ladislav Khás after the Second World War. For many years, the government in her country made it hard to travel. But she was never forgotten by the racing world. In 1972, she wrote her autobiography about her life.
