He changed how we see the stars. Long ago, people thought the Milky Way was the whole universe. They thought other things in space were just clouds of gas. Hubble used a huge telescope to look closer.

He found that these clouds were actually galaxies. A galaxy is a giant group of stars. He found these galaxies far beyond our own Milky Way. He also made a way to group galaxies by their shape. This is called the Hubble sequence.

Hubble also found that the universe is growing. He saw that galaxies move away from Earth. He found that the farther away a galaxy is, the faster it moves. This is known as Hubble's law. This discovery showed that the universe is expanding.

Hubble was a great athlete in school. He played many sports like football and basketball. He later worked at the Mount Wilson Observatory. A famous space telescope was named for him. It is called the Hubble Space Telescope.
