In 1995, the Hubble Space Telescope took a famous photo.

Scientists chose a tiny, dark patch of sky. This patch was very small. It was like looking at a tennis ball from 100 meters away.

The telescope looked at a spot in the constellation Ursa Major. It stayed in a special area called a continuous viewing zone. In this zone, the Earth and Moon do not block the view.

To make the image, Hubble took 342 separate pictures. This took ten days in December 1995. The telescope used four different filters to catch light. These filters let in ultraviolet, blue, red, and near-infrared light.

Scientists had to clean the data. They removed bright spots from cosmic rays. They also removed light from the Earth.

The final image showed about 3,000 objects. Most of these are galaxies. Some are very young and very far away. Because light takes a long time to travel, we see them as they were long ago. This helps us study how the universe changes.
