Eddie Arcaro was one of the greatest jockeys in American history. A jockey is a person who rides horses in races. He was so skilled that people called him "the Master." He had a great sense of pace during a race. He could even switch his whip from one hand to the other with ease.

. His talent helped him win more classic races than any other jockey. He was eventually inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in New York.

Winning a race takes a lot of skill and timing. Arcaro was famous for how he handled his horses. He won the U.S. Triple Crown two different times. The Triple Crown is a group of three very important races. He won these races on a horse named Whirlaway in 1941. He won them again in 1948 on a horse named Citation.

Throughout his long career, Arcaro achieved many amazing things. He rode in 24,092 total races. Out of those, he won 4,779 races. He earned over 30 million dollars during his time racing.

. He won the Queen's Plate in Canada in 1953. He also won the Washington, D.C. International in 1954 at Laurel Park. He won the Jockey Club Gold Cup ten times. These numbers show just how much he competed.

After he stopped racing, Eddie stayed busy in many ways. He retired in 1962 because of pain in his arm called bursitis. He worked as a commentator on television for CBS and ABC. He also worked for the Buick Motor Division. He even owned an Italian restaurant in Beverly Hills.

. He lived in Miami, Florida, until he died in 1997. His life showed how much hard work can lead to great success.
