Eagles have amazing eyesight. Their eyes are very powerful. A wedge-tailed eagle can see twice as well as a human. This helps them spot food from far away.

Eagles live in many places. They can live in deserts or thick forests. They build nests, called eyries, in tall trees or on high cliffs.

Some eagles hunt fish. Others hunt snakes. Some eagles even hunt small animals like deer. A bald eagle once flew with a 6.8 kg fawn. Other eagles can kill animals much heavier than themselves. They are at the top of the food chain. This means they are apex predators, or the main hunters in their area.
