Diane Warren is a famous American songwriter who writes music for many different artists.

She is known for writing songs that people love to sing. Her music has appeared in over sixty different films. She has written nine number-one songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. She also wrote 33 top-ten hits for that same chart. Many people know her through famous songs like "Because You Loved Me" by Celine Dion. Her work is so popular that she has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Writing music is a hard job that takes a lot of time.

Diane often works for 12 to 16 hours every single day. She likes to work alone in her office in the Hollywood Hills. She calls this room her "secret world." Inside, she uses a tape recorder to capture new melodies. She plays them back to choose the very best songs. This way, she can listen to her own mind. She says that being autistic helps her become a better songwriter.

Diane's journey into music started when she was a young girl.

She began writing music when she was 11 years old. By age 14, she felt that music truly saved her. Her father was a big supporter of her dream. He bought her a 12-string guitar to help her practice. He even bought a metal shed so she could work. He took her to music auditions to help her succeed. She wrote "Because You Loved Me" to thank him for his help.

She has achieved many amazing things in her long career.

Diane has won a Grammy Award and an Emmy Award. She also won two Golden Globe Awards for her work. In 1985, she gained recognition with the song "Rhythm of the Night." Later, she became the first songwriter to have seven hit songs on the charts at once. She has received 17 nominations for Academy Awards. In 2022, she received an honorary Oscar at the Governors Awards.

Beyond music, Diane cares deeply about the world around her.

She is a strong supporter of animal welfare. She lives on a ranch in Malibu with many rescued animals. Her ranch is home to goats, pigs, donkeys, horses, and chickens. She also helps schools through the Music in the Schools initiative. This program provides sheet music and instruments to students. Diane shows that you can be a great artist and a kind helper too.
