This work is very special to art lovers. It was the first bronze statue of its kind in a long time. It was also the first free-standing male nude since ancient times. Many people think the Medici family paid for it. The statue has moved many times. It spent time in a palace courtyard. Now, it lives in the Bargello museum in Florence. Experts study it to learn about the past. Some think the boy's strength came from God. Others look at how the artist made him look so real. In 2007, workers cleaned the bronze for the first time. They used lasers to make it shine again.
