Dane Rudhyar was a man with many talents. He was a composer, a painter, and an author. He also studied the stars in a new way.

When he was twelve, a bad illness changed his life. It made it hard for him to move well. He turned to music and study to grow. He studied in Paris and later moved to New York. In 1917, his music was played by a big opera group. This music used new kinds of sounds.

Rudhyar also studied astrology, which is the study of stars. He did not think stars forced us to act. Instead, he thought stars showed us how we feel inside. He called this humanistic astrology. He wrote a famous book about this in 1936.

He was also a painter. He joined a group called the Transcendental Painting Group. These artists made art to show deep ideas. Later in life, he lived in San Francisco. Many people there loved his ideas about a New Age. He wrote over forty books during his life.
