These people were very skilled. They had many jobs in their towns. Some were weavers who made cloth. Others were goldsmiths or worked with metal. They also traded goods with places like Tibet and China. This trade helped their economy grow.

Chutiya kings ruled from a place called Sadhyapuri. One king was named Nandin. He ruled in the late 1300s. Another king was Lakṣmīnārāyaṇa. He ruled in the early 1400s.

The Chutiyas were very advanced for their time.

Later, a group called the Ahoms arrived. The two groups had many fights. One fight was about fishing rights in the river. By the year 1523, the Ahom king Suhungmung won. He took control of the Chutiya lands. The Ahoms then used the land to grow rice. Many Chutiya people joined the new Ahom government.
