It has many drawers stacked one above another. People use them to store things like clothes. You might keep socks or underwear inside. This helps keep a bedroom neat and tidy.

Most chests are shaped like a rectangle. They are often made of wood. Many have short legs at the bottom corners. Some chests are waist high. These often have a mirror on top.

You can use the mirror to see yourself while getting dressed.

There are many names for these items. In America, people often call them a dresser or a bureau. In England, a dresser might have shelves on top. These shelves hold dishes or other items. Some chests are also called a mule chest. A mule chest is wider than it is tall. It has drawers at the bottom and a lid on top. This style was popular for 100 years in England and America. Long ago, chests were simple wooden boxes with lids. They were even used by noble families in Europe.
