Writing Central Kurdish involves using a special alphabet. This is the Kurdo-Arabic alphabet. It is a version of the Arabic script. Two people named Sa'ed Sidqi Kaban and Taufiq Wahby helped make it in the 1920s. They added new letters to make the writing clearer.

Tracing the history of Central Kurdish can be hard. We do not know the exact ancestors of the language from long ago. The oldest written texts we have are from the 16th century. One very old book is called Mehdîname. It was written in 1762 by Mulla Muhammed ibn ul Haj.

For a long time, poets were the main people writing in Central Kurdish. They used the language to create beautiful art for others to enjoy.

Many famous poets helped make the language strong. A poet named Nalî wrote in Sorani. He knew other languages like Arabic and Persian. Still, he chose to write in Kurdish. Other poets like Salim and Mustefa Bêgî Kurdî also wrote important works.

These writers built the foundation for the modern language. Their poems and stories helped people value their own way of speaking. They kept the tradition alive for many years.

Today, Central Kurdish is used in many important places. It is used in schools, courts, and on the radio. In Iraq, it is used for government work and media. The internet has also changed things for speakers. Now, thousands of people can find books and stories online.
