Many people in Iraq and Iran speak it. In Iraq, it is one of the two official languages. One common version is called Sorani. This name comes from a place called the Soran Emirate.

Long ago, poets used Central Kurdish to share their art. Famous poets like Nalî wrote beautiful poems. They wanted to keep their culture alive through words.

In the 1920s, people made a new way to write it. They used the Kurdo-Arabic alphabet. This alphabet uses special letters to make words clear.

Today, Central Kurdish is very important for schools and news. It is used in books and on the radio. In Iraq, it is used for government work too. The internet also helps people find stories in Central Kurdish. It is a way for people to learn and stay connected. Even when things were hard, people kept using their language. This helps their history and traditions stay strong.
