Her career has involved many different ways of sharing news. She started on television at Channel 13 and Imevisión. Later, she worked on many programs like En Blanco y Negro. She even worked with a partner named Javier Solórzano for many years. In 2005, she began hosting an interview show on CNN en Español. She also uses the internet to run her own news website. Today, she hosts a morning news show that people can find online.

Aristegui was born on January 18, 1964, in Mexico City. She grew up in a neighborhood called Colonia Álamos. Her father was a Basque Spaniard who moved to Mexico as a child. Sometimes, her reporting led to hard times at her jobs. In 2011, MVS Radio fired her after she discussed a rumor about President Calderón. Many people protested to help her get her job back. She returned to the air on February 21 of that year. In 2015, she was fired again from MVS Radio. This happened after she stood up for two other journalists. Those workers had found secrets about a government contractor and the president's family.

Even when things were difficult, the truth remained important. A federal court ruled in 2018 that her 2015 firing was illegal. She later formed an alliance with Grupo Radio Centro. This allowed her internet news to be broadcast on XERC-FM stations. She also wrote a book in 2006 about Mexican presidential candidates. Her life shows how journalists work to keep people informed. She continues to be a very important person in Mexican media.
