It is even known for the Roses selection box. Many people consider it one of Britain's most successful exports.

Making these treats involves many clever steps. In the 1800s, a new cocoa press from the Netherlands helped a lot. This machine removed unpalatable cocoa butter from the cocoa bean. This made the cocoa much better for making chocolate. Later, George Cadbury Jr. helped create a special recipe in 1905. This recipe used a much higher proportion of milk than other brands.

This method allowed the company to mass-produce milk chocolate for the first time. It was a huge success and became their best-selling product by 1914.

The story of Cadbury began a long time ago.

John Cadbury started his business in 1824 in Birmingham, England. He was a Quaker who first sold tea, coffee, and drinking chocolate. His brother Benjamin joined him to form Cadbury Brothers in 1847. Later, John's sons, Richard and George, took over the company in 1861. They helped the business grow even when it was struggling. George even built a model village called Bournville for the workers. This village was meant to give them much better living conditions.

There are many interesting facts about the company's history.

In 1875, the company made its very first Easter egg. They could do this because they developed a smooth cocoa butter. By 1893, they were selling 19 different kinds of chocolate Easter eggs. The company also received royal warrants from Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth II. During the First World War, more than 2,000 employees joined the British Armed Forces. Cadbury even gave chocolate and clothing to help the troops.

You can see how Cadbury connects to your own life.

Many of the treats we eat today started with these family innovations. For example, the Creme Egg was launched in 1923. The Fruit and Nut bar arrived in 1928. Even the famous Roses box was introduced in 1938. Some people might even remember reading Roald Dahl's book about a chocolate factory. This is because he once received test packages from Cadbury to try. These small moments connect history to the sweets we enjoy now.
