Bush dogs are carnivores, which means they eat meat. They usually hunt in small packs. A pack is a family group. They hunt during the day. They often eat large rodents like capybaras. Sometimes a pack works together to hunt much larger animals. They use teamwork to catch prey.

It is hard to find bush dogs because they are very shy. Scientists call them Near Threatened. This means their numbers are going down. They are losing their homes to farming and wood cutting. They can also get sick from domestic dogs. People are working hard to study and protect them.
