When this happens, the brain cannot start working again. Doctors must check the brain very carefully. They want to be sure it is truly gone. Machines can sometimes help the body keep moving. These machines help the body breathe.

Sometimes, a body might move on its own. This can happen even if the brain is dead. These movements come from a different part of the body. They do not mean the brain is working.

In some lands, doctors can use parts of the body to help others. This is called organ donation. It can help a sick person feel better. It is a way to help others.
