Borzuya

life science Maturity 5-7 Next article →

Borzuya was a famous doctor in Persia. He lived a long time ago. He worked for King Khosrow I. The king sent Borzuya on a trip to India. The king wanted a special plant. He thought the plant could bring the dead back to life.

Borzuya met a wise thinker in India. The thinker told him the truth. The "plant" was actually a book. It was called the Panchatantra. The book was kept in a royal treasury. The king of India let Borzuya read it. But he said Borzuya could not copy it.

Borzuya did not follow that rule. He read the book every day. He memorized the words in his head. Then he wrote the book in Persian. He sent his work back to his king. The king was very happy. He said the book gave his soul new life.

Borzuya did not ask for gold or jewels. He asked for a fine suit of clothes. He also asked for his name to be in the book. He wanted people to remember his hard work.
