Bill Finger was a famous comic book writer. He helped make the hero Batman. He worked with artist Bob Kane. Finger gave the hero many special traits. He chose the gray colors for the suit. He gave the hero a cape and a mask with bat ears. He also thought of the name Bruce Wayne. Finger helped create the city of Gotham City. He also helped make the Joker and Catwoman. He even helped create the hero Green Lantern.

For a long time, people did not give him credit. He was called a "ghostwriter." This meant he did the work, but his name was not shown. Because of this, he died without much money or fame. This was not fair to him.

Later, people began to study his work. Fans and researchers found the truth. They wanted to fix his lost legacy. In 2015, DC Comics finally changed things. They now list his name as a co-creator of Batman. We can now celebrate his great skill and many ideas.
