Aventura is a famous Latin music group from the Bronx, New York. They are known as the "Kings of Bachata," or "K.O.B." for short. This title shows how much they changed bachata music forever. The group has four members: Romeo Santos, Henry Santos, Lenny Santos, and Max Santos. They are all of Dominican descent. They were the first major bachata group to come from the United States.

The group created a new sound called Urban Bachata. They did this by mixing bachata with other styles. They used sounds from R&B, Pop, Hip Hop, Rap, Reggae, and Rock. They were also among the first to sing in Spanglish. This means they used both English and Spanish in their songs. To make their music sound fresh, they used special effects on their guitars. They also used new ways to play the bass, like slapping and sliding.

The group started long ago as a small band. In 1993, Lenny and Max Santos formed a group called Banda Sueño. It was mostly just a hobby at first. Later, they became Los Tinellers, which is the Spanish spelling of "teenagers." They played for free in the streets and local stores in the Bronx. In 1995, a man named Elvin Polanco discovered them at a parade. He became their manager and helped them record their first album in 1996.

Everything changed when they released the song "Obsesión." This song became a massive hit all over the world. It reached number one in seven different countries. This helped people in Europe and other places hear bachata for the first time. Around this time, the singer Anthony decided to use a new name. He chose Romeo Santos to help him feel less shy on stage. He wanted to be a romantic character for his fans.

Aventura has had many big successes since then. Their album "God's Project" was a huge hit in 2005. It was the best-selling tropical album of that year in the U.S. They have sold many albums and won many awards. They have even played to huge, full crowds at Madison Square Garden. Their music continues to be recognized by people all over the world.
