He was born in 384 BC in a place called Stagira. His father was a doctor for a king. This likely helped Aristotle love biology and medicine.

At age eighteen, Aristotle moved to Athens. He studied at the Academy with a teacher named Plato. Later, he taught a young boy named Alexander the Great.

Aristotle also started a school called the Lyceum. He built a large library there for his students. He wrote many books on many subjects. These included plants, animals, and how to think clearly.

Aristotle studied logic, which is a way to reason. His work on logic was used for a very long time. He also wrote about physics and how things move.
