Rivers carry dirt and sand.

Sometimes, too much dirt stays in the river. This makes the river bed rise up.

This can bury things on the land. It can even cover a house.

Volcanoes can cause this to happen. Dry weather can also cause it.

When it is dry, plants may not grow well. This lets more dirt move into the water.

This process helps new land grow. It is a big change for the Earth.
