He was born in 1889. Adolphe loved to test new things in the sky. He was the first person to jump from a plane with a parachute. He also wanted to fly his plane in circles. These circles are called loops. On September 21, 1913, he flew a loop. A Russian pilot named Pyotr Nesterov had flown a loop first. Still, many people knew about Adolphe's flight. He became a teacher for new pilots.

Later, a big war began. Adolphe flew planes for the French Army. He was very good at air combat. He was the first pilot to become an "ace." An ace is a pilot who wins many battles in the air. In 1915, Adolphe was shot down and died. He was only 26 years old.
