Aage Bohr was a famous scientist from Denmark. He studied physics. This is the study of how the world works. His father, Niels Bohr, was also a great physicist. They are one of a few father and son pairs to win the Nobel Prize in Physics. This is a very big prize for smart people.

Aage worked to understand the atomic nucleus. The nucleus is the tiny center of an atom. Before Aage, scientists had different ideas about it. Some thought it was like a liquid drop. Others thought it had a shell shape. Aage found a way to link these ideas. He showed how the whole nucleus moves and how tiny parts move inside it. He worked with Ben Roy Mottelson to prove this. Their work matched what they saw in real tests.

During a war, Aage had to leave Denmark. He flew to Britain in a fast plane. He even helped his father with work on atomic projects. Later, Aage became a professor. He led a big science center in his home country. He lived a long life of discovery. He died in 2009.
