Habu first learned the game in school. He loved it so much that he became a pro at age 14.

Habu has achieved many great things. He was the first person to hold seven major titles at once. These titles are big prizes for the best players. He is also the only person to earn seven lifetime titles. This means he played at a top level for a very long time.

His skill is quite special. Some people call his clever moves "Habu's magic." He can find ways to win even when a game looks lost. He often uses a piece called a silver to help him win. People even call certain parts of the board "Habu's zone" because he plays so well there.

Habu has won over 1,600 games. He has won more games than almost any other player. In 2018, he won Japan's People's Honour Award. This award shows how much his country respects his skill and hard work.
