Xiong Shili was a famous thinker from China. He lived from 1885 to 1968. He grew up in a very poor family.

Xiong studied many different ideas. He looked at Buddhist ideas about the mind. He also looked at Confucian ideas. He wanted to help China during a hard time. He believed that people must work together. He thought people should trust each other to survive.

He wrote a major book called A New Treatise on Consciousness-only. In this book, he used a special idea. He said that reality and the world are one. He used the ocean to explain this. The deep ocean is like a hidden reality. The waves are like the things we see.

Xiong believed that humans are born with goodness. He said we should grow this goodness every day. He thought the truth is not far away. Instead, the truth is inside our own minds. We find it by looking deep within ourselves. This helps us live a meaningful life.
