Tang Chun-i was a famous Chinese thinker. He was a leader in New Confucianism. This is a way of thinking about old ideas in a new way. Tang was born in Sichuan, China. In 1949, he moved to Hong Kong. He helped start New Asia College there. He wanted to keep Chinese culture alive. He thought the school was very special. It opened 2,500 years after Confucius was born.

Tang had big ideas about the world. He believed people and the universe are one. He called this harmony. He also studied the "heart-mind." This is the part of us that thinks and feels. He said the heart-mind helps us find truth.

Tang wrote about many things. He wrote about ethics, which is how we act. He also wrote about metaphysics. This is the study of what is real. In one book, he shared the "Nine Horizons." These are nine ways that humans understand life. They include things like math and moral ways. His work still helps people today.
