Wonhyo had a big idea about the mind. One night, he was traveling to China. He was very thirsty. He found a vessel and drank from it. It felt cool and good. The next morning, he saw the truth. The vessel was actually a human skull. The water was not good at all. This shocked him. He realized the mind can change how we see things. He decided to stay in Korea to teach.

Wonhyo did not live like other monks. He wanted to reach all people. He went to small towns and villages. He used songs and dances to teach. Some people thought his ways were odd. But he used these ways to help others.
