You use a tool called a Wii Remote to play. This remote has a motion sensor inside it. The sensor feels how you move your body. You swing the remote just like a real tennis racket. You can also swing it like a golf club or a baseball bat. In the boxing game, you use two controllers to punch. The game uses simple rules so new players can start quickly.

Nintendo created this game to reach many different people.

They wanted people who had never played games to try them. Katsuya Eguchi helped produce the game at Nintendo. The team chose sports because almost everyone knows how they work. They wanted a game that people would play every single day. They even used characters called Miis to play. These Miis are small avatars that look like the players. At one point, they even thought about using Super Mario characters.

This game had a very big release in 2006.

It is also the third-best-selling video game in history.
