White tea comes from a tea plant.

Many buds have tiny white hairs. These hairs look like silver. This is how the tea got its name.

People pick young leaves and buds. They dry them in the sun. This makes the tea very light. It does not have a strong taste.

The tea is not a bright white. When you brew it, it is pale yellow.
