Many fans and experts call him "The Wizard" because of his amazing skills. He is widely seen as the greatest rugby sevens player in history. Sevens is a fast version of rugby played with fewer players on the field. Serevi's talent helped him earn a place in the World Rugby Hall of Fame. This is a special group for the most important players of all time. His life story is even told in a book called "King of Sevens."

Serevi's journey began in Suva on the island of Viti Levu. He was born on May 20, 1968, to Christian parents. As a boy, he felt inspired by a big rugby win in 1977. Even though he missed that match, he saw how happy it made Fiji. He loved the game so much that he sometimes struggled in school. In 1984, he failed his tenth-year exams because he played rugby too much. He eventually left school to play for his local club, Rewa. At first, a coach thought he was too small to play safely.

He also played for many famous clubs in different lands. He played for Mitsubishi in Kyoto, Japan, where he earned a high salary. He also played for Leicester in England and Stade Montois in France. He even joined a club called Staines in London late in his career.

He scored 117 points in that single tournament to help his team. He won the World Cup again in 2005. In that same year, he became a player-coach for the Fiji national team. He led them to win the World Sevens Series for the first time. This was a huge deal because no team other than New Zealand had won it before.
