This land is now North America, Europe, and Asia.

These dinosaurs changed a lot over time. Early ones were small. They had long arms with three fingers.

Later ones grew very big. Some were the largest hunters on land. Most big ones had small arms with only two fingers. Some fossils even show they had primitive feathers.

Many had bony crests on their heads. These crests might have been for show. Their bodies had special parts too. They had S-shaped necks and long tails. Their legs were built for fast running. They had a special ankle shape called an arctometatarsus.

This shape helped them move. Even the huge Tyrannosaurus had these long leg bones. Most lived in the Northern Hemisphere. But some might have lived in the south too.
