The number of people living in England grew very fast. In 1520, there were about 2.3 million people. By the year 1600, that number grew to 4 million. This growth helped the economy grow too. More people meant more wool was made and sold. It also helped the city of London grow larger. However, more people meant there was less land for everyone.
