Many people believe they were gods. Their name might mean "people of the goddess Danu." Some think they were masters of many crafts. They were great at art and magic.

They had many special roles. Some were kings or queens. Others were healers, smiths, or warriors. Lugh was a famous hero. He was a master of many skills. Goibniu was a skilled smith. Brigid was linked to fire and poetry.

These people came to Ireland in dark clouds. They brought a mist that hid the sun. They lived in a place called the Otherworld. This was a hidden realm. Some say they lived in burial mounds called the sídhe. These mounds were doors to their world.

The Tuatha Dé Danann fought the Fomorians. The Fomorians were their rivals. The Tuatha Dé Danann won a big battle. Later stories say they lived underground. They used magic to stay hidden from humans. These old tales help us learn about Irish culture.
