A bug called a kissing bug carries it. The bug bites animals to eat blood. It leaves waste on the skin. The germ gets inside from that waste.

People can also get sick from bad food. This happens if the germ is in the food. The germ has a tiny tail. This tail helps it swim. It swims into the body to hide.

Once inside, the germ grows. It can live in the heart. This can make the heart stop working. It is important to stay safe.
