She ruled in Java from 1328 to 1350. Her father was King Kertarajasa. Her mother was Queen Gayatri. For many years, a king named Jayanegara kept Tribhuwana away from the court. This was not good for her. After Jayanegara died, Tribhuwana became the ruler. She took a new name. It was a long name that meant she was like a goddess.

Tribhuwana worked with a man named Gajah Mada. He was her prime minister. Gajah Mada made a famous vow. He wanted to grow the empire very large. Tribhuwana helped him do this. She was a brave leader. She even led her own army into battle. Under her rule, the empire grew to include Bali.

Tribhuwana had a son named Hayam Wuruk. He became king after her. She stepped down from the throne in 1350. She still helped the king as an elder. Later, people honored her as a goddess. She was a very important ruler in history.
