She often wrote in a style called hiburan. This type of music is influenced by Western sounds. It is similar to the easy listening music found in the United States. She used many different styles like jazz, pop, rock 'n' roll, and blues. To make sure her songs were allowed, she often paired modern music with patriotic lyrics. This helped her share her art even when rules about music were strict. She saw her songs as medicine or vitamins for her life.
