Tiger sharks have special ways to find food. They have small pits on their snout. These are called ampullae of Lorenzini. They help the shark feel electric fields from prey. They also have a lateral line. This is a part that feels vibrations in the water.

To protect its eyes, the shark has a nictitating membrane. This is a clear eyelid. It helps the shark see in low light.
