Some other experts suggest a different timeline. They think he may have ruled from 1526 to 1513 BC. This difference comes from how they study old star records. Thutmose I took the throne after Amenhotep I died. He was not born into a royal family. His mother was a woman named Senseneb.

This leader was very active in many wars. He led his army deep into the Levant and Nubia. These areas were far from the center of Egypt. He wanted to push Egypt's borders much further. In Nubia, he fought a battle against a rebellion. He even killed the Nubian king in combat.

After his victory, he traveled back to Thebes. He also worked to make travel easier for his people. He ordered a canal to be cleared at the first cataract. This helped ships move easily between Egypt and Nubia. He even built a new fortress at Tombos to keep the peace.

Thutmose I was also a very famous builder. He spent a lot of time working on the Temple of Karnak. He worked with a builder named Ineni.

Before him, the temple was much smaller. Thutmose I built a large hall with cedar wood columns. These columns looked like a marsh of papyrus plants. He also built many tall stone pillars called obelisks. He added walls and gateways to the temple area. He even put up huge statues of himself. These statues showed him wearing different royal crowns.

Building things was a big part of his life. He built many statues and temples in many places. He built at Memphis, Edfu, and even in Nubia.

He was also a very special king for burials. Thutmose I was the first king confirmed to use the Valley of the Kings. He had a tomb built there by Ineni. This tomb is known by the name KV38. Later, his body was moved to a different tomb. It was placed in KV20 with his daughter, Hatshepsut. This shows how his family stayed connected in history.

His life changed the way Egypt grew. By winning wars, he made Egypt a much larger land. By building temples, he made the religion very strong.

He left a strong empire for his son to rule. His son was named Thutmose II. His daughter, Hatshepsut, also became a very famous ruler later on. The work he started helped Egypt stay powerful for many years. His name, which means "Thoth is born," lives on in history books today.
