The river moves through many different lands. In India, it flows through places like Himachal Pradesh and Punjab. It reaches a large dam called the Bhakra Dam. This dam makes power and helps water reach farms. The water goes into canals to help crops grow.

In the past, the river flowed a different way. Some experts think it used to flow into a different river. Changes in the earth may have moved its path. This change might have turned some green land into deserts.

The river's path can change over time. Floods or mining can make the river move. One old map shows where the river used to sit.

As the Sutlej flows, it joins other rivers. It meets the Chenab River to form the Panjnad. Finally, the water flows into the big Indus River. The river is a very important part of the region.
