CGI gives filmmakers much greater control over every pixel. It allows for effects that are more convincing and much safer for actors. Many traditional optical and mechanical techniques have been replaced by CGI. However, the core goal remains the same as it was for Méliès. Filmmakers continue to use these tools to make the impossible feel real.
