Soft Power (2004) by Joseph Nye

Joseph Nye made this term famous. He wrote about it in his books. Soft power is about being attractive. It is about making others want the same things you want. This happens through culture, political values, and foreign policies.

For example, a country might share its music or art. This can make other people like that nation. A country's values also matter. If a nation treats people well, others may want to follow its lead.

Soft power is not always good. Some leaders used it for bad reasons. It is also hard to use. It can take many years to work. Governments cannot always control culture.

Groups like schools and clubs also use soft power. Some countries send teachers or doctors to help others. This builds a good name. This way of leading helps countries work together without fighting.
