Is our world real? Some people wonder if we live in a computer simulation. This is called the simulation hypothesis.

Many thinkers have asked this before. Long ago, a man named Zhuangzi dreamed he was a butterfly. He wondered if he was a man dreaming of a butterfly. Other groups, like the Gnostics, thought our world was made by a lesser god.

In 2003, a philosopher named Nick Bostrom shared a new idea. He said three things might be true. First, smart groups might go extinct before they make simulations. Second, they might choose not to make them. Third, if they do make many, we are likely in one. This is because there would be many more fake worlds than real ones.

Some people disagree with this idea. Some scientists say it is not a real science theory. They think it might be impossible to build such a big world. Others wonder what the real world is made of. It is a big mystery for many to think about.
