We do not know exactly when he lived. Experts are still studying his life.

We know about him because of many small seals. These are called scarabs.

Over 396 scarabs with his name have been found. This is a lot! It is three times more than the next king. These seals show his name and his title, Maaibre. This title means "The righteous one is the heart of Ra."

These seals were found in many places. They were in Egypt, Nubia, and Canaan. Some were even found far away in Carthage.

This shows that Sheshi had many trade links.

Scholars have three main ideas about who he was. Some think he was a Hyksos king. The Hyksos were a group that came to Egypt. Others think he was a vassal. A vassal is a ruler who serves a stronger king. A third idea is that he ruled a different group of kings. This group might have ruled just before the Hyksos arrived.
