Sega started a long time ago. In 1960, two men started a company called Nihon Goraku Bussan. The name "Sega" comes from the old name, Service Games. At first, they made machines for coin play. These were called slot machines. Later, they made games for arcades. One famous game was Periscope. It was a game about a submarine.
