Robert Mundell was a famous economist from Canada.

He was born in 1932 in Ontario. As a young man, he loved boxing and chess. He studied hard and earned many degrees. He taught at many big schools like Columbia University.

Robert had very big ideas about money. He studied how different countries use their own coins and bills. This is called exchange rates. He helped people think about how countries could use the same money. This work helped lead to the creation of the euro. For this, people call him the "father of the euro."

He also helped start a way of thinking called supply-side economics. This idea focuses on tax cuts. In 1999, he won the Nobel Prize in Economics. This is a very special prize for people who change the world. Robert lived in Italy for many years. He died in 2021 at the age of 88. His work still helps us understand how money moves around the world today.
