Three-cushion billiards is a specific type of carom billiards. In this game, a player must strike the cue ball so it hits at least three cushions before hitting the second object ball. Ceulemans mastered the physics and precision required for this task. He was the first player to reach high scoring averages in this discipline. He reached the 1.500 and 2.000 average points milestones. These averages measure how many points a player scores per turn. Achieving these numbers requires extreme accuracy and strategic thinking.

His professional career is marked by incredible winning streaks and diverse titles. He won his first Belgian three-cushion title in 1961 at age 23. In 1962, he secured his first CEB European Three-cushion Championship. He won his first world title in 1963 at the UMB World Three-cushion Championship. Following this, he won 11 consecutive world titles. This massive streak lasted until 1974, when Nobuaki Kobayashi defeated him in the finals. Even as he aged, his skill remained unmatched. At age 64, he won his latest UMB world title in 2001 in Luxembourg.
